    About the Mali Programme: MAG has been present in Mali since June 2013. Alongside risk education MAG conducts non-technical survey, collecting information about the presence, type, distribution and surrounding environment of mines and UXO, to better define where the contamination is. This allows better prioritisation of clearance. The programme is working with local communities to develop a network of Community Focal Points. This involves training men, women, young people, teachers and traditional leaders to share safety messages and collect data relating to accident victims and levels of contamination within communities.

    About the role: Due to continued growth in the MAG Mali programme, we are seeking to recruit a Technical Operations Manager to lead and safely manage all Mine Action and Arms Management and Destruction operations in Mali, as well as leading technical teams of national and international staff. Working closely with and reporting to the Country Director, you will provide high quality technical input into proposals and reports, liaise with donors, and government agencies. As a member of the programmes Senior Management Team, you will need to demonstrate considerable experience of working strategically and ensuring the quality and efficiency of MAG’s clearance work.

    About you: You will need to hold a recognisable EOD 3 qualification and have extensive experience of planning and implementing efficient AMD activities in challenging environments, with a mine action background being beneficial. Previous experience in West Africa is desirable. You will have excellent people and project management skills with the ability to coordinate, design, manage and report on activities simultaneously and remotely. This is a demanding yet highly rewarding position that will be suited to a highly motivated, solution-focused and flexible manager. A patient, tactful and diplomatic approach is also required.

    About the role:

    As a Community Liaison Manager with MAG you will work with local communities and a wide range of stakeholders. Our community liaison roles are varied, and can involve designing and delivering Risk Education programmes to be implemented in the region by our Community Liaison teams, collecting and analysing data on accidents and MAG’s impact to lower these, conducting non-technical surveys, or building relationships with communities so that MAG’s teams can enter a region to start the process of making it safe. Our Community Liaison Managers are essential to MAG’s life-saving work and as the sole Community Liaison Manager in the programme, this is a great opportunity to taking a leading role in this.

    About you:

    You will have experience of leading, motivating and managing national staff, have strong participatory learning and facilitation skills and experience of conducting assessments in order to design and implement appropriate interventions. In addition, you should have experience in designing and delivering formal or informal training, with the ability to organise and coordinate activities or projects. We’d be especially pleased to hear from you if you have previous experience of working in Africa and/or other challenging environments. Candidates must be fluent in French.

    About the role:

    Reporting to the Country Director, the Finance Manager will provide strategic and operational financial leadership to MAG in Nigeria, including control of expenditure, budgeting, cash flow management, financial reporting and identification of financial liabilities. As well as developing the financial strategy, you will also be responsible for day to day financial management in the programme, including managing cashbooks, payroll and statutory payments. The role will be based in Abuja but will travel to other locations within the programme as required.

    About you:

    You will need to be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.), or qualified by experience in a similar role, preferably within an international context within the African continent.     Our Technical Field Managers are the core of our work and actively manage and lead our teams of national staff to safely implement our life saving mine clearance and EOD projects. They must be willing to lead from the front, responsible for the day-to-day management of our technical teams and being involved in all aspects of MAG’s lifesaving work, including administration, team cashbooks, procurement of equipment, reporting and planning. Roles are in remote areas, working in challenging contexts away from home comforts, but the life-saving impact the work has on local communities is very real, and rewarding.     About you:

    You must be qualified and experienced in demining / EOD operations, with previous experience working for a similar organisation, either in the humanitarian or commercial sector.     About the Iraq Programme:

    Following decades of conflict, Iraq is heavily contaminated with landmines and other unexploded ordnance (UXO) and the ongoing regional crisis has added to the scale of this problem. MAG has been working in Iraq since 1992 and after a rapid expansion into new areas over the past 12 months; we currently have over 650 national staff and 90 teams operating in six areas in northern Iraq. By clearing hazardous areas, MAG has enabled new schools, roads and hospitals to be built, opened up vital trade routes and allowed communities to use their farming land in safety, giving them greater food security and an escape from poverty. Most recently, our work has supported the safe expansion or establishment of camps for displaced people and clearance of areas of return, as well as delivering life-saving risk education for those fleeing the violence.

    About the role:
    MAG is looking to appoint an HR and Administration Manager to join its programme in Northern Iraq at a time of rapid expansion. You will support the senior management team to develop and implement effective HR initiatives and strengthen the HR function, including employee relations, recruitment, reward and learning and development. You will provide HR Management and strategic support to the country SMT to ensure a strategic approach to HR issues as well as compliance with local labour laws and promote good management practice, strengthening HR capacity throughout the programme. You will also be responsible for managing the administration function, which will include assisting in the NGO registration for expansion into other areas of Iraq, including Baghdad.

    About you:

    The HR Manager will be based in Erbil, but will travel regularly to operational bases and may be required to travel to Southern Iraq including Baghdad. The successful candidate will need previous experience of delivering HR services in an international NGO ideally in the Middle East, operating in insecure environments. You will also need experience of implementing a wide range of effective HR policies, procedures and projects. You will work closely with the team in-country and remotely with HR colleagues at HQ and you will therefore need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, negotiation and problem solving skills with a pragmatic approach to your work.

MAG a travaillé au Tchad de 2006 à 2013 afin d'améliorer les conditions de vie des communautés affectées par ces problèmes, pour leur permettre d'élever leurs enfants et de gagner leur vie dans un environnement sûr et sans danger, sans vivre dans la peur constante d'être blessées ou tuées. Nous sommes retournés au Tchad fin 2014 et avons relancé notre programme, œuvrant pour améliorer la gestion des armes et des munitions parallèlement à notre action humanitaire contre les mines.

    Si notre offre est acceptée, un nouveau projet de 4 ans sera lancé dans le cadre du programme, et nous cherchons à développer l'équipe qui travaillera sur place dans les régions du lac et de Tibesti.

    Nous recherchons un Gestionnaire de liaison communautaire au Tchad pour diriger plusieurs activités, y compris les enquêtes non techniques, le suivi d’impact et l’éducation aux risques. Vous serez chargé(e) de recruter et de former les équipes nationales CL ainsi que de mettre au point et de dispenser des ressources et des séances de formation d’éducation aux risques des mines Les Gestionnaires de liaison communautaire de MAG sont essentiels à notre travail qui consiste à sauver des vies et ce poste de Gestionnaire de liaison communautaire international étant le seul et unique dans le programme, il s'agit là d’une opportunité exceptionnelle de jouer un rôle de premier plan dans ce domaine.

    Profil du candidat :

    Votre expérience précédente vous aura donner l'habitude de diriger, motiver et gérer le personnel national ; vous devrez posséder des compétences solides en apprentissage participatif et en animation, et savoir conduire des évaluations afin de concevoir et de mettre en place les interventions appropriées. De plus, vous devez avoir acquis une expérience dans l’élaboration et la mise en œuvre de formations formelles et informelles, avec la capacité d’organiser et de coordonner des activités ou des projets. Une expérience de travail en Afrique et/ou dans le secteur de l'action humanitaire contre les mines serait un avantage certain.

    Vous devez avoir une maîtrise pratique et professionnelle de l’anglais et du français.

    Il s'agit d’un poste de terrain, les conditions de travail sont difficiles, dans des lieux reculés au Tchad, vous devrez donc être capable de vivre et de travailler dans des environnements éprouvants où seuls compteront vos compétences et le travail pour MAG.
